Quickie Post: Recommendations as Resources

Sure, I could compile a great list of blogs about writing. I could tell you all why I like them all. But why would I do that, when a great list has been compiled at Writing White Papers.

There, you will find their request for nominations for the Top 10 Blogs for Writers. The 138 responses to the post offer a great list of writing blogs.

I have two of them on my blogroll, have linked to at least two of the others, but a number of these sites are new to me. Rest assured that I'll be investigating them and sharing my findings with the rest of you. Those of you who would like to do your own research (or are just looking for more great blogs), click over to the contest and peruse the nominations.

No doubt guilty of periodic language assassination, I truly enjoyed this diatribe. My spouse of 40 years was a teacher with an English minor. She has struggled diligently over the years to remove the western Pennsylvania colloquialisms in my speech. She has made some progress but in the process has sensitized me to the good and well issue as well as many other “normal” errors. Of course, recognition of error does not necessarily preclude use of the same error but it does significantly reduce the probability. Laughing at one self is essential for guilt free laughter at others. Your comments allowed me both.

Thanks so much! Knowing the rules doesn't prevent me from hearing the most egregious errors come out of my mouth. I'm glad I could give you a laugh.
